Type of Justification: Advice of INTERNAL government advisory committee or group, Medical Devices industry
Source of Evidence or Justification: National – government
Evidence/Justification: It is required to take tax measures that reduce the value in the import and acquisition of goods and supplies in the national territory, essential for the provision of medical services for patients suffering from the Coronavirus COVID-19 and for preventive care of the Colombian population on this pandemic, which is why the exemption from sales tax -VAT, on imports and sales in the national territory is established.

The negative economic effects generated by the new Corona Covid-19 virus on the inhabitants of the national territory require attention through the adoption of extraordinary measures aimed at meeting obligations of a different nature, such as tax, financial, among others, in order to protect the health sector, promote the country’s industry and commerce, and absorb the economic losses and labor force affected by this pandemic
