Overview: The Ministry of Health authorizes the purchase of respirators for intensive care units despite the technical observations on the purchase of this equipment. The Bolivian Society of Infectious Diseases, a private entity, observed the relevance and risk of using this equipment. The equipment can be used for a significant segment of the population or in municipalities that do not have intensive care services and, after training with specialists, medical personnel will be able to use them to save their lives of patients, until they are transferred to a third level hospital and connected to conventional ventilators with the intervention of a specialist doctor.
