Overview: Executive order 20-21 suspended statues and rules regarding hospitals and nursing facilities in order to better allow hospitals and nursing facilities to handle a larger flux of patients (e.g. creation of surge hospital sites, suspension of local authorization requirements for hospitals or camps for communicable diseases, and operation of quarantine-step down sites for nursing facilities). Immunity was granted to health care facilities, health care workers, and others to provide services beyond or without a license as permitted by RI Gen. Laws. This executive order was set to expire May 8th.
