Overview: Order 14-2020: This order outlines updated restrictions on having visitors attend long-term care and licensed supportive living facilities. In particular, outdoor visits with the essential visitor and one other person (up to a maximum of 3 people including the resident) are permitted. Residents who are not required to isolate may spend time outside if physical distancing requirements are upheld. Residents within the end of their life should have the opportunity to have visitors or family around them so long as safety is maintained. Specific protocols for these visits are outlined. The aim of this intervention is to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 in Alberta while balance the need for residents’ quality of life to be maintained to the greatest possible extent.
