Overview: The Ontario government is offering additional funding to enhance the province’s back to school plan, supported by investments from the federal government. The federal announcement of an investment of $381 million to Ontario on top of the province’s contribution of $900 million will support back to school plans. This federal funding will provide support for provincial initiatives, including reopening plan implementation (e.g. ensuring proper ventilation, internet connectivity, hiring of custodians, providing additional PPE, etc.), student transportation, special education and mental health supports, hiring of additional public health nurses to support schools, and remote learning.
