Overview: The intervention was mandatory isolation for: 1) 10 days for any Albertans experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms including cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, or sore throat) that is unrelated to pre-existing health conditions; and 2) 14 days for any Albertans who recently returned from international travel or who are in close contact of someone with COVID-19. The policy was a public health order aimed at the general public, and it is intended to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 between individuals by ensuring people who are potentially exposed do not come into contact with anyone until after the incubation period has ended.
