Overview: The Government of Saskatchewan announced the indefinite suspension of classes in Saskatchewan pre K-12 schools, effective March 20th. This was described as a preventative approach intended to decrease the risk of COVID-19 spread.

Evidence/Justification: The decision to close schools was described by Premier Scott Moe, in the news conference, to be made in consultation with the Saskatchewan Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab. This was described as a proactive and preventative measure. In addition, it was also described that this decision was informed by evidence of community transmission in Alberta.
