Type of Justification: Advice of EXTERNAL expert advisor or advisory committee, Learning from other jurisdictions
Source of Evidence or Justification: World Health Organisation, National – other, CDC
Evidence/Justification: The Bahamas Ministry of Health moved from an annoucement 1/22/20, to an advisory 1/28/20, to a ban/first governmental requirement 1/30/20, based on a change in the WHO’s declaration of a Public Health Emergency just hours before. Despite the WHO still recommending no travel nor trade restrictions be implemented, The Bahamas Ministry of Health made a determination to follow the USA’s CDC’s travel restrictions. Without justification cited, the Bahamas increased the CDC’s ban of all foreign nationals who had been in China within the past 14 days to all non-residents who had been in China within the past 20 days.
