Overview: Approved the Protocol for the Integration of Genomic Sequencing in the Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2
Overview:
The working group on Alerts and Preparedness and Response Plans, dependent on the Public Health Commission of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System, has approved a protocol for the Integration of Genomic Sequencing in the Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2. The document, prepared by the Ministry of Health with the participation of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII), offers a guide to work on determining the incidence of genetic variants of the virus, as well as on the identification of new variants, which may be of interest to public health.
