The vaccine candidate MVA-CoV-2, which uses the modified Ankara vaccinia virus (MVA) as a ‘vehicle’ to ‘transport’ a SARS-CoV-2 protein (the S protein) that stimulates immune defense against the coronavirus, has been proven effective in animal models and have been just published in the prestigious Journal of Virology. Therefore is ready to move further into clinical trials.
