Overview: Title: Spain takes part in first meeting of European Foresight Network

Overview: Representatives of the 27 Member States will take part in the meeting to debate the foundations of its first project: to design Open Strategic Autonomy (OSA) to help the European Union navigate the technological, climatic, geopolitical and social transformations that will take place from now to 2040 and guarantee its economic sustainability vis-à-vis such powers as the USA and China. The first dashboards on socio-economic resilience that are being prepared by the European Commission will also be presented along with the strategic foresight work being carried out by three Member States: France, Finland and Spain.
The European Foresight Network was set up in November last year on a mandate from Ursula von der Leyen to be run under the auspices of the European Vice-Presidency for Inter-institutional relations and Foresight headed up by Maros Sefcovic.
