Overview: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Romanian citizens who are, transit or intend to travel to the Italian Republic that the Italian Government has declared a state of emergency following the health risk caused by new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections concentrated mainly in the Lombardy regions and Veneto. Additional measures taken by the Italian authorities to reduce outbreaks and prevent the spread of the virus include a ban on leaving or entering areas where most cases have occurred, closing public premises, canceling sports or leisure activities, suspending schooling and issuing health emergency alerts advising citizens to stay in their homes in the regions where these cases have occurred.
