Overview: The Dutch Government has tasked local authorities to find suitable housing for 6,500 asylum seekers who already have residence permits, in the next six months. Currently, more than 5,800 asylum seekers with residence permits are waiting for a home. The Government has also extended temporary shelters or reception centres for asylum seekers, and is looking to create more in collaboration with local authorities.
