27 March 2020 – Required people to stay at home except for essential purposes

Overview: The Irish Government required people to stay at home except for essential purposes. Essential workers may continue to work.

People may leave their homes to buy food and medicines and other essential things, attend medical appointments and exercise.

No one may gather with people they do not live with. People may leave their home for vital family reasons, such as providing care to children, elderly or vulnerable people.

People must exercise within two kilometres of their homes and only with people they live with.

People may leave their homes for farming purposes.
