Overview: Following today’s meeting of the State Security Council, it was decided to take two more emergency measures in connection with COVID-19. All mass events with more than 100 people at a time were banned. Furthermore, teaching at primary, secondary, university and higher vocational schools was prohibited.

“The epidemiological situation in Europe is not going well, not only in Italy but also in other countries. It is better to be active at the beginning when the epidemic is at the beginning than to deal with the situation “ex post”, as in Italy, where the number of cases jumped in one day, ” said Health Minister Adam Vojtech after the meeting of the State Security Council. At the same time, the Minister confirmed a total of 40 positive cases and the first “groundbreaking” case in the Czech Republic without a so-called travel history.

With effect from 10 March 2020 from 6 pm, theater, music, film and other artistic performances, sports, cultural, religious, federal, dance, traditional and similar events and other gatherings, exhibitions, festivities, pilgrimages, tastings, markets shall be prohibited. and trade fairs, both public and private, with more than 100 participants at the same time.
At the same time, with effect from 11 March, the personal presence of pupils and students at primary, secondary and higher vocational education and at universities is prohibited.

According to the Minister of Health, these measures are currently in place, and he added that it is essential that people are responsible and observe basic hygiene rules.
