Overview: First financial measures by the government have been announced. State provide additional 1,000 lv (500 euro) a month to all medical staff working with coronavirus patients. There will be also financial measures to make better medical working conditions and inter-hospital transportation, as well as the transportation of quarantined patients to and from their homes. Resources from the Human Resource Operational Programme will be made available by municipalities to expand patronage care and to expand to people in quarantine. Pensions of over 400,000 working retirees will be recalculated without them having to go to the National Social Insurance Institute. The resources are provided by the Human Resource Operational Programme and European Regional Development Fund.
