Overview: The National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG) together with GBM Panama announced the creation of the PROTEGETE PLATFORM, a digital innovation that will allow COVID-19 positive patients to maintain effective and direct communication with health experts, especially in possible moments of urgency.
When a patient is diagnosed as positive, they will be contacted by personnel from the Ministry of Health (MINSA) to access this platform. In this way, the patient will be safely registered by facial recognition. Then a doctor will be assigned to whom he can report his health status daily, an action that will allow MINSA to monitor the patient’s conditions. In addition, it includes a panic button enabled to request the assistance of a doctor or an ambulance in case of any complication.
