Overview: The Minister of Health, communicated that children, as of May 14, 2020, will be allowed to leave the confinement accompanied by their parents, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) reiterates that they can only do so in the period (2 hours a day), that corresponds to the adult according to the last number of their ID and gender day.
MINSA recommends that parents be vigilant so that minors do not touch surfaces, that they maintain the required physical distance, bring their own toys, and that they wear masks.
Parents are also informed that they will only be able to go out with one minor at a time, in the residential perimeter or the Horizontal Property, and that they will not be able to take them to supermarkets or other premises.
As they are minors, MINSA emphasizes extreme sanitary measures such as frequent hand washing with soap and water for more than 20 seconds, use of alcohol-based gel, among others.

Type of Justification: Advice of INTERNAL government advisory committee or group, Advice of EXTERNAL expert advisor or advisory committee
Source of Evidence or Justification: World Health Organisation
Evidence/Justification: During times of crisis and stress, it is common for children to show more need for
being close to their parents and receiving more attention. Talking about COVID-19 with the children and relying on frank and age-appropriate information. If your children have concerns, addressing them together may decrease anxiety. Children will observe behaviors and adults’ emotions to look for cues that tell them how to manage their own
emotions in difficult times.
