Overview: El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, asked Congress on Friday to declare a state of emergency to shield himself from the coronavirus outbreak.

According to the deputies of the Assembly, they will declare a national emergency will not have a problem, but they are asking for an explanation because of the declaration of the State of Exception.

In the early hours of this Saturday and after more than 12 hours of the start of the extraordinary plenary session to address Bukele’s request, the president of the congress took a break until 2 in the afternoon of this day, which caused disagreement.
