Overview: Government of El Salvador formally announces first measures to tackle the novel Corona-virus SARS-COVID-19. Prior to this date, El Salvador prohibited the entrance of people coming from China (01/31/2020); Korea (02/24/2020); Italy (02/24/2020); China (03/07/2020); France (03/07/2020). Then, to all the world on March 11, 2020.
Then, this communique addressed the following:
All state portfolios should be available to prevent and curb the pandemic in the Salvadoran territory.
Guarantee under investigation, laboratory tests and quarantine of thirty (30) days to Salvadorans arriving to El Salvador.
Prohibition of entry of any foreigner who is not a resident or diplomat of the Salvadoran territory
Classes at all levels in the whole country are suspended for 21 days
The Ministry of health, as well as community clinics, private and public health offices to work on the virus research, analysis, and prevention.
