Overview: Public universities make available to health authorities a prototype of a low-cost assisted ventilator for primary care. A group of engineers, physicists, and professors of Arts from the University of Costa Rica (UCR) managed to build an emergency respirator for patients with COVID-19. This could be used freely in the country in primary care. This emergency system automates a manual respirator, which is controlled by one person and is used for the primary care of those suffering from the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
