Overview: The Ministry of Education is delivering food packages to families that have students in the education system and use the student cafeteria service. The first delivery of these packages was made the week of March 23 and the second delivery will be made after April 20. These packages include perishable and non-perishable products such as rice, tuna, pasta, milk, potatoes, carrots, onion, sweet chili, and fruit, among others.

Evidence/Justification: Epidemiology experts from the Ministry of Health pointed out to the Ministry of Education that it was necessary to combine the objective of guaranteeing access to nutritional service with the objective of limit the spread of contagion, avoiding, as far as possible, that many children and young people have to be present at the same time in schools, that’s why, they take the decision of delivering food packages every three weeks. Food recognised as a humna right.
