Overview: Temporary suspension of work contracts is authorized. The President of Costa Rica and the Minister of Labour published the regulations which allows the temporary suspension of work contracts, which means suspending the obligation of the working person to provide the service and the obligation of the employer to pay the salary. This temporary suspension contracts does not interrupt the employment relationship between the employer and its collaborators and should not be understood as a process of dismissal or resignation. Similarly, this suspension may be partial, that is, it may not apply to all workers in the company.
