Overview: ₵ 791 million (colones, national currency) were allocated by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MICITT) to finance actions in research and development around innovation, science, and technology in order to fight COVID-19. MICITT is promoting three areas of work: 1) Provide resources for research in detection, prevention, and treatment of COVID-19; 2) Empower the community of national, transnational companies, national researchers and scientists to develop national prototypes, and 3) Promote the development of capacities in small and medium-sized companies to better cope with the economic consequences of COVID-19.
