21 June 2020 – Fiji begins moving towards a post-Covid-19 world, restrictions loosening

Lead People/Agency: The lead decision maker on all relevant COVID-19 interventions is the Prime Minister of Fiji, Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama.

Overview: This is an announcement of Fiji’s move towards a post COVID-19 world. The targeted audience are the general public and it is intended to notify people on what to do as the government heads back towards a new normal (in which they will build Fiji’s resilience to COVID-19). These changes include: nationwide curfew still in place but from 22nd June 2020 the new curfew hours will be from 11pm to 4am. Nightclubs remain closed. From 22nd June 2020, gatherings of 100 people will be allowed (weddings, funerals and place will be allowed but only with gatherings of 100 people). Year 12 and 13 will start on the 30th June 2020 (Schools will open on 6th July for other students). Sporting venues and cinemas will be opened but will be limited to 50 percent capacity.
