Lead People/Agency: The Prime Minister (Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama) was leading all of the intervention on COVID-19 in Fiji.

Overview: The intervention/announcement was aimed towards the general public. The Prime Minister of Fiji announced Fiji’s 18th COVID-19 case. The patient returned from USA on the 22nd of April, 2020 and was later diagnosed after one week of quarantine. She is 51 years old and luckily, the contact tracing began as soon as she was first tested on the 18th of April, identifies her as a low-risk transmitter.

The Prime Minister spoke on how contagious COVID-19 can be and how people are to take precautions on preventative measures.
