Overview: This is an announcement of the 162 Fijians who returned to Fiji after completing peacekeeping duties in Sinai, who are required to be in quarantine until they complete 14-day period. This was done so that early detection of COVID 19 can be done to prevent the transmission of the virus.

According to a government statement, all returning peacekeepers underwent symptoms and temperature checks upon arrival at the Nadi Airport and were immediately placed safely into quarantine.It says tests were conducted at the Fiji Centre for Disease Control and all came back negative for COVID-19.

The troops will be tested again and will be released from quarantine only upon receiving a second negative result.The statement says that while they look forward to reuniting peacekeepers with their families, it is important that this is done by adhering the current Government protocols for all citizens returning to Fiji.
