01 April 2020 – Unemployment benefit for workers in informal sector within lockdown areas

Lead People/Agency: As part of Government’s COVID-19 stimulus package, Fijians working in the informal
sector within lockdown areas of Lautoka, Suva and Nasinu are eligible for $150 in
financial assistance. This pay-out will be provided to those with valid hawkers/ business
license or permit.
The Ministry of Economy will process the applications within five working days once the
application forms are received.
