Overview: Declaration of state of public health emergency in the Philippines due to the local transmisson of covid-19 in the Philippines. Policy was declared in light of confirnmed local transmission of the diesease in the Philippines as determined by the Department of Health (DOH) secretary. All Local Government Units (LGUs) are required to offer full assistance and cooperation through using apporpriate measures to curtail and eliminate the covid-19 threat. Policy also enables DOH to call upon the assistance of law enforcement agencies in protecting all citizens against the disease.
