13 August 2020 – Urgent meeting to implement measures to curb COVID spread

Lead People/Agency: The decisions were made after a meeting attended by the President of Lebanon, the Head of the caretaker government, Minister of Health, the President’s Adviser for Health and Social Affairs, the Director General of the Presidency of the Republic and the Adviser to the Prime Minister For Health Affairs. The implementors include: private and governmental hospitals, filed hospitals coming from abroad, World bank, all Lebanese residents, different ministries and municipalities to reinforce the quarantine and lockdown and isolating some neighborhoods.

Overview: A Meeting on the Urgent Measures to be Taken to Curb the Spread of COVID-19 agreed on the following:
1. Establishing a workforce/committee to activate coordination in the medical and hospital sector
2. Extending the declaration of the state of emergency in the capital, Beirut, for an additional month
3. Emphasis on adhering to the recommendations proposed by the Coronavirus Follow-up Committee and issuing the necessary measures for that
4. Activating hospitals to receive those infected with Corona, so that now it is necessary for governmental and private hospitals to open their doors for those infected with Coronavirus.
