12 March 2020 – Government restricts cultural, sporting and other public events

Overview: In order to prevent the threat of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, in accordance with the law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Public Health”, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic has decided to temporarily restrict the cultural, sports and other mass events until the epidemiological situation improves; individuals and legal entities operating in the sphere of trade, services and public catering are recommended to refrain from holding and participating in events, install sanitizers, air purifiers in rooms and halls, provide employees and visitors with disinfectants; the Ministries, state committees, administrative departments, authorized representatives of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the regions, local state administrations and local self-government bodies are instructed:
– to take appropriate measures to provide institutions that provide state and municipal services to the population with disinfectants;
– to conduct a broad awareness-raising campaign among the population about compliance with the provisions of this decree.
Control over the implementation of the resolution is assigned to the relevant departments of the Administration of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
