Overview: The new coronavirus is designated as a ‘disease’, enabling forcible hospitalisation at the taxpayer’s expense. The further classification as a ‘quarantinable disease’ means that people suspected of infection must undergo diagnosis and treatment while under quarantine and can be segregated from the rest of the population.
