Overview: The Crisis Cell in Al-Diwaniyah Governorate held an emergency meeting chaired by the Governor of Al-Diwaniyah, Zuhair Ali Al-Shaalan, the provincial police chief and several directors of government departments and security and civil institutions and announced the ban of any form of social gathering and to not allow more than three people to be in a public place or salon car. The Crisis Cell also announced that no wheel or person will be allowed to leave or enter from outside the governorate, except for food and oil trucks, and directed the security services to tighten their measures.

In the meeting, the Cell decided to call upon the rich and merchants to support the governorate and citizens due to the lack of funds as a result of the austerity and the financial need of the health institutions. It was also decided to form a specialized committee chaired by the governorate Health Department, the membership of the police command and security agencies, to assess the health and environmental condition and set strict conditions for restaurant owners to observe the preventive aspects and ensure the safety of citizens, to complete its plan within 48 hours and submit it to the Crisis Cell to begin its application.

The cell affirmed to support civil initiatives to spread health and environmental awareness in the governorate, and to held a meeting with the directors of all departments to put in place mechanisms for reviewing citizens cases and completing their transactions, provided that the elderly are taken into consideration and are prioritized to ensure that there are no gatherings and crowds to avoid the transmission of infection.
