Overview: The head of the Crisis Cell, Diwaniya Governor Zuhair Ali Al-Shaalan, announced that in order to support the needy families who were affected by the curfews during the crisis, a Disadvantaged Relief Committee was formed, supervised by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and a number of Diwaniya dignitaries, to collect donations from the employees or any citizen who wishes to support the needy families affected by the crisis. Also, the cell authorized the directors of government departments to estimate the status of their employees’ time, provided that it does not exceed 25 percent, except for the security, health and service departments (municipalities, water, sewage, electricity), in line with the decisions of the central crisis cell. The head of the crisis cell stressed that “the official working hours in the districts during Ramadan will be from 8 am until 1 pm, while the curfew will be lifted from 6 am until 7 pm according to the instructions of the central crisis cell.

The spokesperson for the Crisis Cell, Director-General of Diwaniya Health, Lamia Al-Hasnawi, said that “a directive was issued to the Civil Defense Directorate and government departments and institutions to sanitize their buildings, and not to allow any citizen to enter those places unless they adhere to the safety and protective measures by wearing gloves and face masks.

The Diwaniya Police Commander (a member of the Crisis Cell), Brigadier Haider Hassan Munkhi, stressed on tightening the work of external controls and entrances to cities, and not allowing entry to the province except for the extreme necessity, noting that taxis and private cars, except for transport vehicles and trucks, will adopt the mechanism of numbers (odd and even ), in their movement, while not allowing passenger buses to travel to ensure the safety and health of citizens.
