Overview: Governor of Wasit Muhammad Al-Mayahi during a meeting with the crisis cell announced that Wasit may become a disaster-stricken province due to the outbreak of Coronavirus and hence announced the following:
1- Creating a plan for the regional quarantine, to be implemented next week.
2- Implementing a home quarantine for patients with no symptoms or breathing problem.
3- Opening quarantine centers in the neighborhoods of Al-Hay, Al-Numaniya, Al-Suwaira and Al-Azizia to reduce the burden on Al-Zahra General Hospital.
4- Emphasis on preventing gatherings, which he mentioned was the duty and responsibility of citizens.
5- Double the fines on the violators from the owners of restaurants and cafes. He also stated that the license was withdrawn from 50 restaurants and coffee shops due to violation of measures.
6- Forming a volunteering media cell from all actors and activists to carry out a comprehensive awareness campaign.
