Overview: In the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched “Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan” (Rs 50,000 Crore worth project) on 20th June 2020 to boost employment and livelihood opportunities for migrant workers returning to villages. The project focuses on development of durable rural infrastructure, providing modern facilities like internet in the villages, and will be implemented in a mission mode campaign in 125 days in 116 Districts of 6 States.
