Overview: The World Health Organisation declared Covid -19 a global health emergency, Zimbabwe has since officially reported at least nine cases and one fatality.
The Zimbabwean government then responded by putting in place a raft of measures to deal with the pandemic. One of the intervention is the SI 2020-077 Public Health (COVID-19 Prevention, Containment and Treatment) Regulations, 2020.

Evidence/Justification: The statutory instrument came as a result of the declaration of COVID-19 as formidable epidemic disease by the WHO and several mortality cases which were being witnessed in other countries. Experiences from countries is one of the reasons for the introduction of the statutory instrument.
