Overview: The Government of South Africa banned gatherings of more than 100 people and cancelled mass national celebrations and other large events.
Organisers of small unavoidable gatherings are required to put in place prevention and control measures
People are also required to limit school contact, keep a distance of 1.5 meters from others, avoid hand shaking and hugging, and follow hygiene guidance from the National Institute for Communicable Diseases.
