Overview: President Danny Faure announces that the public and private sector have been collaborating with support from the World Health Organisation to prevent the novel coronavirus from entering Seychelles.
The Cabinet of Ministers have approved a new National Plan in response to the evolving pandemic crisis. The plan has been formulated with the objective of preventing this virus from entering Seychelles, with contingency measures in place to take control of the situation early on and reduce its transmission.
All overseas travel by public officials has been banned. Border control and surveillance measures are reinforced, while national Defence Forces have been called on to assist and support the Department of Health with the implementation of the new National Plan.
