Type of Justification: Perception of an increased threat
Source of Evidence or Justification: National – government
Evidence/Justification: Pursuant to these instructions, the Government has taken a series of measures and recommendations, which are aimed at raising the level of protection of our populations. It is:
1. the creation of a Coronavirus Fund (Covid-19), immediately matched by the State in the amount of one billion five hundred million (1,500,000,000) of FCFA;
2. intensification of controls at points of entry, by mobilizing additional health and safety teams, in particular at land borders;
3. the presentation of a negative Covid-19 test result, carried out by an approved institution, henceforth accompanying any request for a visa to enter the territory of the Republic of Congo;
4. postponement of non-essential travel to countries where the disease is prevalent;
5. postponement, until further notice, of all official missions abroad;
6. strengthening of hygiene measures in public administrations and private companies;
7. the postponement, to a later date, of international events planned in the Congo, in particular congresses, conferences and crusades;
8. the closure, until further notice, of games rooms, shows and cinemas as well as outdoor restaurants;
9. suspension, until further notice, of all mass sports competitions on national territory;
10. the suspension, until further notice, of all flights from high-risk countries, effective Thursday, March 19, 2020.
