Overview: The President of the Republic announces extension of the State of Emergency:
– The President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, announced on the 29th of April, in a Communication to the Nation, the extension of the State of Emergency in the scope of the measures to prevent and contain the spread of the pandemic of COVID-19.

– The Government concluded that, in general, the degree of compliance with the measures requires more efforts on the part of Mozambicans, as measures have been identified whose degree of implementation is still insufficient, in which case it is urgent to improve its implementation.

– After hearing the State Council and the National Defense and Security Council and advised by the Technical and Scientific Commission created for this purpose, the extension of the State of Emergency, beginning at midnight on May 1, 2020 and ending at 11:59 pm on May 30, 2020.
