Overview: The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, updated citizens that the ministry of health had confirmed 19 cases of COVID 19. 1 death and 18 under treatment. Majority are imported cases. He had ordered the closure of Ghana’s borders from Sunday, March 22, 2020. This is to help reduce further escalation of the Coronavirus infection rate in the country. “Anybody who comes into the country, before midnight on Sunday, will be mandatorily quarantined and tested for the virus’. The mandatory quarantine is to last for 14 days. Flights from countries with more than 2000 cases are not to be allowed in

Evidence/Justification: In order to prevent spreading all universities, basic schools and all schools were closed down previously on the 16th for four weeks.The number of cases of CONVID 19 in Ghana keeps increasing with majority of the being imported. The travel restrictions and border control are to help identify, isolate , contain and prevent the continuous spread due to local transmission.
