Overview: Global figures reassure that DRCongo is doing relatively well when it comes to the number of COVID-19 cases. DRCongo attributes the lower number of COVID-19 cases to the age of Congolese population. The median age in the DRC is a little below 19 years. In all of the countries where the epidemic has taken its toll, 80% of deaths have occurred in people over the age of 65. However, in DRCongo, less than 4% of the population has reached this age.
