Overview: The President of the Republic chaired a Presidential Council on the implementation of the Economic, Social and Humanitarian Support Plan against COVID19 on Friday May 22, 2020 to see the state of progress. It takes stock and notes the proper functioning of the measures taken and takes additional measures including
-payment of water bills to subscribers at the social rate
– State support for workers whose employment contract was terminated or suspended as a result of COVID-19, the Presidential Council authorized state support for the 20,326 workers registered at the end of April 2020. The State support will result in the payment, exceptionally, of an amount of 4,407,240,000 CFA francs, corresponding to monthly payments by category;
-In terms of state support for agricultural sectors which had been decided in previous months, the Council validated the principle of immediate state support for certain sectors in difficulty, for an amount of 150 , 8 billion CFA francs. This support is financed by the State up to 120 billion CFA francs and by a contribution from technical and financial partners in the amount of 30.8 billion CFA francs.
