24 April 2020 – Governor provide updates on state response to COVID-19

Overview: The state will be working with Brown University and the RI Blood Center to conduct a random sample of COVID cases in RI using 20,000 antibody tests. The RI Dept. of Health has created the RI COVID-19 Testing and Validation Task Force to analyze the data collected. The Task Force will be headed by two Lifespan physicians. The Governor has also authorized a Congregate Care Workforce Stabilization Fund to provide pay increases to low-wage front line workers. The state will also be making available $1.5M in rental assistance for low income residents. Governor Raimondo, Senator Reed, Senator Whitehouse, Congressman Langevin, Congressman Cicilline, Attorney General Neronha, members of the Cabinet and representatives from the advocate community will partake in a Violence Prevention Facebook Town Hall.
