Overview: The French government banned gatherings of more than 100 people until April 15.
This extended the advisory a month earlier that asked people in “cluster zones†to avoid group activity and asked people in the rest of the nation to avoid gatherings of 5,000 people or more in closed spaces.
The law gives local authorities the right to disallow smaller gatherings if necessary to prevent the spread of the virus.
