Overview: A high-level delegation will move permanently to the North region of the country to mitigate the impact of COVID-19. The Government of Costa Rica will reinforce its strategy to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 in the north of the country: The first measure will be the deployment of a High-Level Inter-institutional entity to the region, made up of authorities from the Ministries of Security, Health, Agriculture, Labor, Foreign Relations and the Joint Institute of Social Aid (IMAS). Hierarchs will have a permanent presence in place, to monitor the progress of the pandemic and make timely decisions on site. In addition, the Executive Power will maintain a permanent dialogue with businessmen in the area, to avoid an increase in infections among workers in the productive sector.
