Overview: IATF amends the onmibus guidelines on the implementaion of community quarantine

– Amendments to guidelines of areas under ECQ/MECQ/GCQ/MGCQ

– Introduction of the term “accommodation establishments” referring to hotels, resorts, inns, etc.

– Prohibiting persons below 21 years old, persons 60 years old and above, and persons with delicate health conditions to go outside their residences for areas placed under Modified General Community Quarnatine (MGCQ)

-Emphasis on no-tourism-related travel between areas under GCQ and MGCQ and areas with no community quarantine

– Adoptation of the COVID-KAYA epidemiological surveillance system for case contact tracing and monitoring for all healthcare and testing facilities

Evidence/Justification: On 30 March 2020, the IATF created a sub-technical working group to develop a science-based approach in determining whether the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) should be lifted or extended by defining the parameters in assessing the Philippine’s COVID-19 situation.

On 30 April 2020, the Office of the Executive Secretary issued Executive Order No. 112, issuing Enhanced Community Quarantine in high-risk areas of the Philippines and General Community Quarantine for the rest of the Philippines.

On 23 May 2020, the IATF published Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines
