Lead People/Agency: The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Hamad Hassan, issued a circular, specifying “the mechanism to be followed to enhance the detection of imported cases across land and sea borders in the context of surveillance of cases of infection with COVID-19.” The Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with medical analysis laboratories, is setting up medical teams to collect clinical samples from travelers.

The mechanism includes the following:
A PCR test to detect infection with COVID-19 is performed for all travelers coming to Lebanon of whatever nationality, with the exception of children under 12 years old.
The Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with medical analysis laboratories, is setting up medical teams to collect clinical samples from travelers.
The cost of PCR is collected as follows: one hundred thousand Lebanese pounds for holders of Lebanese nationality, one hundred fifty thousand Lebanese pounds for expatriates from Arab brothers, and fifty dollars for other nationalities.
The cost of the PCR test is collected directly by the authorized laboratory representative.
