27 March 2020 – Commercial banks restrict opening hours

Lead People/Agency: Bank of Uganda and commercial banks. The implementation will be done by the Bank of Uganda and affected commercial banks.

Overview: The Bank of Uganda which supervises all financial institutions in Uganda allows commercial banks to operate with limited hours in line with coronavirus guidelines. All financial institutions now operate from 9AM-3PM only on weekdays. The target audience was all users of banking services. The intended effect was to reduce opportunities for further spread.
